Install with the interface in mind.

Handling, bonding and assembly considerations for venting products.

Keep the membrane and seal functional

The membrane is one part of a complete assembly. Contamination, a damaged sealing surface or blocked clearance can undermine the intended performance even when the component itself is intact.

Adhesive membranes

  1. Clean the bonding area and keep it free from oil, dust and surface defects.
  2. Handle membranes with gloves or blunt tweezers; avoid touching or puncturing the active area.
  3. Peel the release liner back gently instead of prying or folding the membrane.
  4. Align the patch with the vent opening and follow the agreed adhesive pressure, temperature and dwell-time requirements.
  5. Check the rest of the enclosure seals before attributing leakage to the membrane.

Venting caps

  1. Choose a mounting position where water and contamination cannot collect around the vent.
  2. Confirm port diameter, cap engagement and installation clearance against the approved drawing.
  3. Keep the airflow path open; avoid deforming the cap or touching the membrane.
  4. Verify retention and enclosure sealing after assembly.

Threaded vents

  1. Inspect the thread, mating surface and seal before assembly.
  2. Use the approved thread engagement and installation torque; avoid loading the membrane area.
  3. Position the vent so that liquids and contaminants do not pool on the active opening.
  4. Confirm sealing and airflow on the complete enclosure.

Snap-fit components

  1. Check the opening, wall thickness and sealing surface against the product drawing.
  2. Press the component into place using the specified load-bearing surfaces.
  3. Confirm that retaining features engage fully and seals are not pinched.
  4. Verify retention, water protection and airflow after assembly.

Packaging liners

  1. Check the cap interface, liner size and sealing land before installation.
  2. Match the sealing process to the liner construction: compression or induction where applicable.
  3. Keep the sealing area clean and avoid blocking the gas path.
  4. Validate the filled package for liquid compatibility, leakage and pressure balancing.
